You know how it feels when you are so tired you just can’t cope with another thing, but there it is, yet another problem to cope with.

1. Enlist the help of a trusted family member or friend, you will need help somewhere along the way and it always helps to have someone to talk to.
2. Decide on just one or two things to deal with – what are the two most important things that need to happen for you?
3. Make a 10 step plan for how these things are going to happen – do one thing every day that will move you closer to achieving them.
4. If you have children make sure you have some quiet personal time with them every day, children need to talk too.
5. Make lists – it feels really good when you cross off the things you’ve done.
6. Organise a daily routine and stick to it, routine gives everyone, especially children a sense of security.
7. Make sure you have a budget, running up debt will only add to your stress and unhappiness – if debt is your problem, go for budget advice.
8. If you have a job, let your boss know that things are difficult, then she can understand if you are not performing to your usual standard – and you may even get some good advice.
9. Take some time for yourself every week, go for a walk, watch a film, listen to your favourite music, have a bath – just take some time out – you deserve it.
10. Make sure you are getting enough sleep, if you are not sleeping visit your medical professional and get help, you can’t function if you don’t sleep.
Getting your life back on track doesn’t happen overnight, it may take months, tackling one or two things at a time will help you feel that your achieving and making progress.
Trying to do much at one time will only leave you feeling overwhelmed.
Often the hardest thing is letting go of the past, yet it is one of the most important, releasing the past will free up a huge amount of your energy, energy you need to get on with your life.
There is no point in beating yourself up about the past, you can’t change it. Learn from the mistakes and move on.
