Fat Fifty and Single – Appointment 2.

Trish is getting her life back on track.

Trish turned up for her appointment in good spirits she brought some of her pictures with her. She has a good range, including one of a size 16 female figure in a swimsuit, all the pictures have her head superimposed on them, she really is determined to get her life back on track.

I’ve had a look through Trish’s notes on how she would like her life to be and true to her plans from when I first met her she wants to get her weight and fitness levels under control. However, Trish hasn’t written down a target weight, she has written down her target size. I like that.

Trish is aiming to be a size 16 and be able to walk 10kms in about 1.5 hours. Good realistic goals. She has given herself 3 months to achieve her goals. She will be working on losing 0.5 kgs every week and she is going to begin walking for 20 minutes every morning and build up from there. Ultimately Trish wants to lose 6 kgs and be a size 14, but she is going to do it in manageable chunks.

Rather than impose a strict diet on herself I have suggested to Trish that she work on portion control. One good way to help with eating less is to drink a large glass of water a few minutes before you sit down for your meal.

It’s also a good idea to change your shopping habits, don’t shop when you are hungry, make a list and don’t buy any sweet, starchy or highly processed food. If you don’t have it you can’t eat it!

Trish is working on the first 2 steps of her programme, and number 3 is making an entrance, by going for a walk she is beginning to change her routine.

  1. Change what you think about.
  2. Create a new picture of yourself – literally. (you can read more about how to do this in our 21 day course, days 7&8
  3. Change your daily routine.

Trish will spend the next 2 weeks establishing her new exercise and eating patterns, as well as working at catching negative thoughts and replacing them with positive affirmations.
