Safety and Security

How do you see your world?

Is it a safe place, can you walk down the street freely?
Is the food you eat safe, free from pollution?
Is your job secure?
Are you able to pay your bills and keep a rook over your head?
Do you feel you can provide for your family?
Have you got some savings to provide for a rainy day?
Can you protect yourself and your family from unwelcome influences, e.g. are you happy with what your children see on television or on the internet?

I’m sure that at least one or two of the above will have caused you some worry at some time.

Humans have an instinctive need to be safe, we give birth to the most helpless offspring on the planet, we need to have clothes and shelters protect our selves from the weather.

Therefore you are motivated to meet these needs, you get up in the morning and go to work so that you can keep your job – you have job security, you earn money that allows you to meet the safety and physiological needs of yourself and your family.

Too often though, I see people that neglect their own needs in order to meet the needs of other people. I see friends so burned out with work that they don’t eat well, they don’t sleep well, they don’t have family time, they probably don’t even have sex! I’ll deal with that tomorrow!

Keeping yourself and your family safe and secure begins with keeping yourself healthy enough and fit enough to do that. If you aren’t sane, fit and healthy you won’t be doing a good job of keeping yourself or your family safe.

A big focus of my e-book, “How To Get Your Life Back” is helping you to achieve the balance and motivation to put yourself first – for the benefit of those closest to you.
